| Scope of work: |
Purpose: create a single integrated "natural" pointing device for the virtual display wall. Students should choose from at least three technologies:
1) WII controller technology, however RF (wireless) is not allowed
2) Some application of touch screen technology
3) some IR based technology
4) other
project should include documentation, software, design trades
The prototype system will be available for use at RRC
If a test environment is used at UofA, then the students must write a transition plan that indicates how the scale down system can be implemented in the target environment.
The completed pointing device should be hand held, the user should be able to stand within 1 meter of the display and point to a pixel and have the computer recognized which pixel is being selected. The device must run under SAGE or DMX, DMX is preferred. |
