Paragon is a multidisciplinary engineering research, development and production company. We specialize in life support and environmental control in extreme environments. Paragon currently is on the team designing the thermal control systemf NASA's next space suit, the radiators and selected items for the Orion space vehicle and Navy diving systems that allows for diving in extremely contaminated water. Paragon is the fastest growing privately held aerospace company in the US as named by Inc. Magazine. |

| Scope of work: |
The student is invited to read the attached project description and requirements document. In summary the Students will:
1) Research the state-of-the-art in multi-port gas valving systems
2) Conceive, design, build and test a valve able to switch multiple gas flows while resisting thermal "cross talk" between gas streams. This valve will include:
a) the valve body
b) a valve actuating motor
c) a controller that provides valve position information to the user
3) Provide design analysis, drawings, models and reports to show that the valve will meet the requirements.
4) Keep the mentor informed of all progress at thoroughly prepared reviews as required by the course.
5) Provide an estimated cost per unit to build multiple units.
Note that as the valve operates in a pure oxygen environment (not required for testing at this prototype stage) the design will need to be Oxygen system compatible. |
