Team will design and build a precision lens alignment positioning system for use with an infrared interferometer. The system must be able to reliably hold an optical lens and precisely align, position and rotate the lens in an optical assembly in order to achieve Line Of Sight and Co-Boresight requirements. Scope of work requires analysis of optical system, Mechanical and Electrical design interface to interferometer, and development of measurement feedback for optical requirements and performance.Concept of operations is to place a single optical lens into an optical assembly, measure Line of Sight, Co-Boresight and MTF data, (interfacing with interferometer measurement and control system) determine out of tolerance conditions, calculate required translation/rotation, reposition lens and re-measure. Repeat cycle until all optical requirements are achieved. Industrial engineer system for minimal human intervention and judgement as well as speed of task completion. |
